Anyanwu Petitions INEC, DSS, Police Over Forged PDP Convention Letter

Samuel Anyanwu, national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Police Force over an alleged forgery of his signature on a party document.

In three letters dated October 15, 2025, Anyanwu said a letter purportedly sent to INEC about the PDP’s 2025 elective national convention was forged and circulated without his knowledge. The document, referenced PDP/DOM/GF.2/Vol.1M/25-140 and dated August 25, 2025, reportedly bore a cloned version of his signature.

He described the act as “criminal,” urging the security and electoral agencies to investigate and prosecute those responsible, including any collaborators within the PDP or INEC.

The petitions, acknowledged by the agencies between October 15 and 16, included copies of the alleged forged letter as evidence.

Anyanwu said his action was to protect the integrity of the party and prevent falsified documents from being used in official dealings.

His petition comes amid internal tensions within the PDP ahead of its 2025 national convention.

In March, the Supreme Court nullified the judgment that sacked him as national secretary. Following the ruling, PDP chairman Umar Damagum directed him to resume duties — a decision described as “difficult.”

Anyanwu is a known ally of Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
