Chimamanda Adichie loses 21-month-old son
Renowned author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, have lost one of their twin sons, Nkanu Nnamdi.
A statement issued on Thursday by Omawumi Ogbe on behalf of the family said the 21-month-old died on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, after a brief illness.
The family described the loss as devastating and asked the public and the media to respect their privacy during the period of mourning.
They also requested prayers and said no further statements would be made.
