Court Convicts Former Power Minister, Saleh, On N33.7bn Manbila, Zungeru Power Project
Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has convicted the former Minister of power, Mamman Saleh, in the N33. 7 billion money laundering charge filed against him by the EFCC.
The court, in a judgment delivered on Thursday morning, convicted the former Minister of all the 12 count charges filed against him by the Prosecution.
Justice Omotosho accused the former Minister of attempt to arrest the judgment of the court, saying that several attempts were made to delay the judgement.
He added that his absence in court on Thursday was an attempt to arrest the judgment of the court.
Justice Omotosho, therefore, ordered a warrant of arrest for the Minister to be produced in court for his sentencing on May 13th, 2026.
The court held that the action of the former Minister was Shameful, being in the position to make the lives of people better but was living large at the expense of the citizen.
Justice Omotosho added that Nigeria has remained in darkness till today, following the activities of the defendant and others, by using proxy companies to defraud the country.
The Court saluted the detailed investigation in this matter and, thereby, condemned the former Minister for being greedy and convicted as charge.
