Seyi Tinubu consoles Cubana Chief Priest after APC primary loss

Seyi Tinubu has offered words of encouragement to socialite Cubana Chief Priest following his defeat in the APC House of Representatives primary election.

Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, failed in his first bid for elective office after losing the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The socialite was defeated by Canice Moore Nwachukwu, the incumbent representative currently serving a second term in the House of Representatives.

Reacting to the outcome, Seyi Tinubu urged Cubana Chief Priest not to be discouraged. In a post shared via Instagram, the president’s son encouraged him to remain hopeful, expressing confidence in his future potential.

“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war,” Seyi wrote, adding that they were aware of what he was capable of achieving.

Cubana Chief Priest declared his political ambition in April 2026 after obtaining the APC expression of interest and nomination forms.

He previously served as an aide to Hope Uzodinma. During a meeting with party aspirants last Thursday, the governor reportedly refrained from endorsing any candidate, instead advising them to test their popularity among party members.

Known for his vocal support of the ruling party, Cubana Chief Priest also serves as the Imo director of the City Boy Movement, a youth-driven support group backing President Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
