AIR POLLUTION: SUSPECT REMANDED AT OLOKUTA CORRECTIONAL CENTRE
Sequel to the arrest of Mr. Olorunwa Sunday for allegedly conveying substances emitting a highly offensive odour to an undisclosed destination, an act considered an environmental infraction, the suspect has been arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction and remanded in Olokuta Correctional Centre pending the determination of the case.
In a bid to ascertain the nature and composition of the substances, a comprehensive laboratory examination was conducted. The analysis revealed that the substances were faecal materials in substantial quantities.
The Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, has provided the necessary legal support to the Ministry of Environment to ensure that the matter receives appropriate legal attention and is prosecuted in accordance with extant environmental laws.
The Ondo State Government remains firmly committed to taking all necessary measures to protect the health, safety and well-being of residents and to ensure strict compliance with environmental laws and regulations across the State.

Henry Johnson Olagundoye
