HON. ADEOLA FYNCH CELEBRATES DEJI OF AKURE, PEOPLE OF AKURE ON ULEFUNTA 2026
I warmly felicitate with His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, CFR, the Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, the Akure Council of Chiefs, and the entire sons and daughters of Akure, at home and in the diaspora, on the occasion of the 2026 Ulefunta Festival.
Ulefunta remains an important expression of Akure’s rich history, culture, identity and shared heritage, providing an opportunity for our people to reconnect with their roots and celebrate the traditions that have bound generations together.
As an indigene and proud daughter of Akure, I am particularly delighted to celebrate this year’s Ulefunta with our people. Our culture is one of the strongest links between our past, present and future, and it is our collective responsibility to preserve and promote it for generations yet unborn.
I commend His Imperial Majesty for his continued leadership of our traditional institution and for the dignity with which the heritage of Akure is being preserved and projected. The Ulefunta observance, including the traditional period of seclusion and prayer for the peace and prosperity of Akure, Ondo State and Nigeria, speaks to the enduring place of our traditional institution in the life of our people.
On this auspicious occasion, I pray for peace, unity, progress and prosperity in Akure Kingdom. May our beloved Akure continue to grow while remaining firmly connected to the values and heritage that define us. May the reign of our revered monarch continue to be blessed with wisdom, strength and enduring impact.
