Jonathan still a PDP member, says Ologunagba

The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Debo Ologunagba, has said former President Goodluck Jonathan remains a member of the party and has not resigned.

Ologunagba made the clarification on Wednesday during an interview on Arise Television’s *Morning Show* while reacting to speculations about possible candidates for the 2027 presidential election after the PDP zoned its ticket to the South.

He declined to comment on former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, stating that Obi had not declared interest in returning to the PDP.

“President Jonathan is still a member of this party because he has not resigned. And Mr. Obi is a presidential candidate in the last election for another political party. He has not indicated that he’s joining the party,” he said.

Ologunagba also praised Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, describing him as a “poster boy” of the PDP due to his performance and leadership qualities.

“For us, we have, in the party today, very eminently qualified Nigerians and governors who are performing. Nigerians can recognise that,” he added.
