Abuja, Nigeria — The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Consolidated APC Grassroots Movement (CAGrAM), Hon. Dr. Agbi Stephen Omobamidele, has congratulated General Christopher Musa on his appointment as Nigeria’s new Minister of Defence, describing it as a reassuring step for national security.
Dr. Agbi said the appointment reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s defence architecture, adding that General Musa’s experience and leadership style make him a strong fit for the role.
He expressed confidence that the new Minister will help restore security across the country.
“This is a well-deserved appointment. I believe General Musa will bring renewed discipline, strategy and direction to the nation’s defence system. His presence in the Ministry of Defence gives Nigerians hope for a safer and more stable country,” Dr. Agbi said.
He noted that the expectations of Nigerians are high, especially in communities dealing with insurgency, banditry and other security challenges, and urged the public to support the new Minister as he takes on one of the nation’s most demanding assignments.
Dr. Agbi also commended President Tinubu for placing merit and capability at the centre of his security appointments, stressing that the defence sector requires a leader with both operational experience and national trust.
General Musa, a former Chief of Defence Staff, is widely regarded as a strategic officer with deep understanding of modern warfare, joint operations and troop morale.
Dr. Agbi concluded by wishing him success in his new responsibilities.
