Ogundare, popularly known as OGO, made the declaration in a statement issued on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in Ondo State.

He said his decision followed extensive consultations and persistent calls from residents across wards and communities in Owo and Ose federal constituency. According to him, the demand for inclusive, visible, and responsive representation came from various segments of the constituency, including market women, youths, professionals, artisans, traditional leaders, and party members.
