Tinubu stumbles during welcome ceremony in Turkey

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday briefly stumbled during an official welcome ceremony in Ankara, Turkey.
The incident occurred as Tinubu walked alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the presidential palace.
Tinubu appeared to have missed a step but was quickly supported by officials around him and regained his balance within moments.
The president had arrived at the Turkish presidential palace in a black limousine. Shortly after he stepped out of the vehicle, a military band played Nigeria’s national anthem, followed by the Turkish national anthem.
After the rendition of both anthems, President Erdogan was seen adjusting Tinubu’s position to properly face the band.
Tinubu departed Abuja on Monday for a state visit to Turkey.
According to Bayo Onanuga, presidential spokesperson, the visit is aimed at strengthening existing diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Turkey, while exploring further areas of cooperation in security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.
Onanuga added that discussions during the visit will also focus on finance, communication, trade, and investment between both countries.
