Ondo 2024: PRP Candidate, Alli Appeals to Christian Community to Shun Vote Apathy
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Cmrd. Babatunde Francis Alli, has called on the Christian community in Ondo State to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming November 16 governorship election.
Addressing the congregation at the Missionary Baptist Churches of Nigeria’s 2024 Convention, Thanksgiving and Ordination Service on Sunday, August 18, 2024, Alli emphasized the importance of active participation in the electoral process.
During his speech, Alli stressed that voter apathy poses a significant threat to democracy and urged the faithful to turn out in large numbers on election day. He highlighted the need for all eligible voters to cast their votes, reminding them that abstaining from voting is a form of silent endorsement that could harm the state’s future.
Alli further encouraged the Christian community to support candidates with clear and actionable manifestos, urging them to vote according to their conscience and reject any form of electoral malpractice, including vote-buying and selling. “Not voting is a vote, so I am appealing to all of us to vote on election day and support a candidate with a clear and written manifesto for the benefit of Ondo State,” Alli stated.
