Ondo 2024: You Are A Beneficiary Of Stolen Victory, Use Good Governance For Restitution, Alli tells Ayedatiwa
Cmrd. Babatunde Francis Alli, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in the just concluded Nov. 16 Governorship Election in Ondo State, has called on the acclaimed winner of the election and incumbent governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa not to rejoice at the outcome of the election but to be prepared to use good governance as restitution for being a beneficiary of a fraudulent election.
The fearless Alli, who described the election as the most rigged in the history of Ondo State described the state of Sunshiners as worrisome due to previous experiences of failed promises with politicians. “Our people no longer believe in manifestos, they just want to be paid for votes, no matter the outcome. It’s already on records including the one by TVC in Igbotako, in Okitipupa LGA. People were paid to vote”.
According to Alli, “The governor can’t be free to climb the pulpit of the government house chapel to preach again, if truly he used to do that. His confidence level will never be maximum and his productivity too won’t be top-notch.
Stealing reduces productivity be it in an individual or a political party. If the governor does not come clean on this and promise to redress it as well as restitute via good governance, he won’t have a good time in office. He might not like me for what I’m saying, but it’s the truth. No throne bought on the conscience of men prospers”.
“The reason President Umaru Musa Yar’dua’s shortlived tenure remains indelible today is because of his acknowledgement of the faulty electoral process that took him to office. I have seen the video of the Governor’s arrival at his party’s situation room and I can tell you that he didn’t display confidence. It was a ‘faked swag’ he put up.
No matter how drained a man’s energy is, the joy of true victory has a way of showing. If he wasn’t truly victorious, I don’t expect divine joy to power his energy towards good governance. ‘The righteous is as bold as the lion’, there’s nothing as deflating as knowing that you stole a victory, even if the whole world chorus congratulations outside, his heart will be empty.
He may resort to wine or even hot drinks to assuage his soul, but leadership belongs to God, the creator of mankind, you can’t truly serve stolen souls and those who voted the APC and the PDP were bought, they were stolen souls, I don’t envy the situation the governor is now.
Unfortunately during the campaigns, there was no written or published manifesto of what Sunshiners should expect from the governor. No clear agenda in view, it was all promises which are not sustainable in the face of daunting political demands which will be alarming considering how much has been used to buy votes and subvert electoral processes in this election”.
“I’m really afraid for the state in the next 4years and I wish the governor would prove me wrong soon, on these concerns”. Alli concluded.
