Ogun Gov. Dapo Abiodun Swears in 20 Elected LG Chairmen

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abidoun, has sworn-in the twenty newly elected Local Government chairmen in the state.

This was announced via an X post from the Governor’s official handle on Monday.

The inauguration took place at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto in Abeokuta.

Scopeline earlier reports that the election took place on Saturday, 16th of November 2024.

Abiodun urged them to uphold to principles of democracy at the grassroots level.

“At the swearing-in ceremony of the twenty newly elected Local Government Chairmen and their Vice Chairmen, we reminded them of the sacred duty to uphold the principles of democracy and good governance at the grassroots level.

“We urged them to implement impactful programs and policies that will foster socio-economic development and improve the well-being of the people they serve.

“Furthermore, we admonished them not to betray the trust reposed in them by the people who voted them into power.

“Their unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and service will not only strengthen our democracy but also ensure sustainable progress in their respective communities.” He wrote.
