Alignment of Ondo to Coastal Highway Will Boost Economic Development – Engr. Olawoye
The Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, Engr. Abiola Ayorinde Olawoye, has commended the federal government’s coastal highway project, emphasizing its potential to drive economic growth and development. Speaking at the stakeholders’ meeting and unveiling of the 71km Ondo State section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway in Akure, Olawoye described the project as a transformative infrastructure initiative that will open up various parts of the country for increased economic activities.
He highlighted that the inclusion of Ondo State in the project aligns with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s “Our Ease” policy plan, which prioritizes sustainable infrastructure development. According to Olawoye, the highway will enhance transportation, boost trade, and attract investment to the state, reinforcing the broader objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted that the initiative would not only improve connectivity but also create job opportunities and facilitate the movement of goods and services.
Olawoye also expressed appreciation for the Minister of Works, Engr. (Sen.) David Umahi, for his commitment to the realization of the project. He acknowledged Umahi’s dedication to ensuring that the coastal highway becomes a reality, ultimately benefiting Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole.
