150 Ondo State Residents Set to Participate in First Responder Training on Emergency Response Organized by Hon. Wellington Adebawo, HEI



The Office of the Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response, Hon. (Prince) Wellington Oriade Adebawo, in partnership with the Health Emergency Initiative (HEI), is set to host a critical three-day First Responder Training Programme. The event, scheduled to take place from April 8 to 10, 2025, at ODIRS Hall, Igbatoro Road, Akure, aims to equip 150 participants with the necessary skills to rescue victims of medical emergencies.

This initiative underscores the commitment of the Ondo State government to revitalize emergency medical services, as emphasized by Hon. Adebawo’s efforts to revive the Ondo State Emergency Medical Services Agency (ODEMSA), saying that the agency’s primary goal is to provide prompt and efficient emergency medical services, reducing injuries and deaths on the state’s highways.

The training programme will cover essential topics such as rapid assessment and scene management, basic life support, and emergency response planning. By providing residents with critical life-saving skills, the initiative seeks to reduce the risk of fatalities resulting from medical emergencies.

Hon. Adebawo’s dedication to enhancing emergency response services in Ondo State is evident in his recent activities. He has been visiting ODEMSA substations across the state, assessing operations and identifying areas for improvement.
