Suicide Bomber Kills at Least 10 In Borno
At least 10 people have been killed and several others injured after a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device inside a crowded restaurant in Gwoza town, Borno State.
The devastating attack occurred during lunchtime when the eatery was filled with residents. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to evacuate the injured and recover bodies.
Security forces have since cordoned off the area, while investigations are ongoing. Though no group has claimed responsibility yet, the attack bears the hallmarks of extremist elements operating in the region, particularly the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity, as security presence has been increased across key locations in the town.
