FG moves to resolve gas supply issues affecting power generation — Adelabu
Bayo Adelabu, minister of power, says the federal government has begun implementing measures to tackle ongoing gas supply constraints disrupting electricity generation across the country.
Adelabu made this known in his Eid-el-Fitr message, expressing optimism that recent interventions are already yielding gradual improvements that will boost power supply in the near future.
In a statement issued by his special adviser on strategic communication and media relations, Bolaji Tunji, the minister assured Nigerians of the government’s commitment to delivering stable and sustainable electricity.
“Concrete measures are being implemented to ensure more reliable and sustainable electricity for homes, businesses, and industries,” he said.
Adelabu added that reforms introduced under Bola Ahmed Tinubu are beginning to take effect, noting that Nigerians will soon experience their full benefits.
He emphasised the importance of public support and trust in ensuring the success of the administration’s reform agenda, while also highlighting efforts by the president to attract foreign investment and strengthen Nigeria’s global standing.
According to him, recent engagements in the United Kingdom are expected to enhance investment inflows, bilateral relations, and economic cooperation.
“These milestones underscore a new direction for our nation. I urge all Nigerians to continue supporting these efforts so that the gains can be consolidated for the benefit of all,” Adelabu said.
Earlier in March, the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) attributed the continued drop in power generation to persistent gas supply shortages affecting several thermal power plants.
