MAPOLY Expels 365 HND Students Over Fake Certificates, Forged Transcripts
Authorities of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic have expelled 365 students from its Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes after investigations revealed they gained admission using falsified academic credentials. (Vanguard News)
The institution disclosed that the affected students submitted fake National Diploma (ND) results and forged academic transcripts from various tertiary institutions to secure admission into the polytechnic. The discovery was made during a comprehensive verification exercise conducted on documents submitted during admission and registration. (Vanguard News)
According to the institution’s Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Yemi Ajibola, the action is part of efforts to sanitise the academic system and reinforce the polytechnic’s zero-tolerance policy against fraud, forgery and other forms of academic misconduct. (Vanguard News)
A breakdown of the expulsions shows that 156 students were affected in the School of Communication and Information Technology, 117 in the School of Business and Management Studies, 54 in the School of Science and Technology, 36 in the School of Engineering, while two students were expelled from the School of Environmental Studies.
