Owo APC Leaders Received Reconciliation Committee, Clarifies rumor surrounding the Deputy Governor’s office
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Tuesday, welcomed the party’s reconciliation committee led by Prince Biyi Poroye and Alhaji Jamiu Ekungba to the town.
Speaking during the meeting, the Coordinator and Spokesperson of the Elders Forum, Sir Adekola Olawoye, SAN, expressed optimism about the reconciliation process. He declared the readiness of Owo leaders to embrace peace and ensure that the party remains united ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Chairman of the reconciliation committee, Prince Biyi Poroye, commended the commitment of Owo APC leaders to the party’s progress. He also appreciated them for the warm reception accorded the committee in the kingdom.
Owo APC leaders, at the meeting, emphasized the need for the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, and her brother, Otunba Kunle Odide, to withdraw the court case instituted against 35 Owo APC leaders. They noted that the withdrawal would enable seamless deliberations during the reconciliation process.
The leaders further expressed confidence in the capacity and integrity of the committee led by Prince Poroye to commence and conclude the reconciliation assignment.
They pledged maximum cooperation to the committee as consultations for peace continue in the local government.
In another development, the Owo APC leaders used the opportunity to address reports trending on social media alleging a plot to impeach the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami, mni.
Sir Adekola Olawoye, SAN, speaking on behalf of the leaders, reaffirmed the Deputy Governor’s loyalty, commitment, and dedication to the progress and development of Ondo State.
He described Dr. Adelami as arguably the most loyal and honest number two citizen the state has ever produced.
“We see such news as a mere rumour and we hope it ends there. The good people of Owo Kingdom will not condone any unpalatable treatment of the Deputy Governor while in office,” Olawoye said.
He added that the entitlements of the Deputy Governor should be prioritized by the state government.
