As Tope Adegboye celebrates his 40th birthday, it’s only fitting to reflect on the remarkable journey of a man who has dedicated his life to making significant contributions to business, entrepreneurship, and the development of his community.
Born into the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Olabanji Adegboye in Omiluri, Bolorunduro, Ondo East LGA, Ondo State, Tope’s early life was shaped by a strong educational foundation.
He attended Saint Philip Primary School in Omiluri and then moved on to Ekimogun Community Grammar School in Bolorunduro.
Tope’s thirst for knowledge drove him to pursue higher education, first obtaining an OND in Business Administration from the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, followed by a BSc in Public Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.
In 2006, Adegboye’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Tom & Jerry Cleaning Services, a highly reputable company that has provided extensive cleaning solutions to prestigious institutions, including the Governor’s Lodge in Alagbaka, Ondo Medical Village, Kidney Care Hospital, and various other medical and public centers across Ondo State.
Through Tom & Jerry, Adegboye has successfully employed and trained over 130 staff members, making a tangible impact on the local job market.
In 2019, Adegboye’s passion for environmental sustainability drove him to launch TOPZY Recycling, an initiative aimed at educating the public about proper waste management while offering a community-based solution where waste can be exchanged for cash and other incentives.
He revitalized the once-dormant NIROWI factory in Ondo by situating his recycling plant there, creating employment opportunities for countless young graduates.
Adegboye’s commitment to sustainability didn’t stop there. In 2020, he established TOPZY Power and Services, a renewable energy firm focused on delivering clean, sustainable power solutions. His visionary approach to energy has brought a solar mini-grid project to 15 communities within Ondo East and West Federal Constituencies.
Additionally, he has profiled over 80 unserved streets, towns, and communities for independent power plant projects in Ondo State, further expanding access to renewable energy.
Adegboye’s expertise and dedication to public service have not gone unnoticed, leading to his appointment as the Special Adviser on Renewable Energy to the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tope Adegboye is a family man, happily married to Mrs. Nancy Ernest Adegboye, with whom he shares the joy of raising their children. His life’s mission is clear: job creation, sustainability, and community development. As he turns 40, his legacy continues to grow, inspiring many within and beyond his community.
