Hon. Adelosoye Maxwell sympathizes with the victims of Ondo Flood launches emergency funds for relief items

Honorable Adelosoye Maxwell Transition Committee Vice Chairman Ondo South west LCDA Extended his deepest sympathy to the residents and families affected by the devastating floods caused by the heavy rainfall that occurred in Ondo State yesterday. This natural disaster has caused immense damage to homes, businesses, and public infrastructure, leaving many families in distress.

The flooding is a painful reminder of the severe effects of climate change, which continues to exacerbate extreme weather conditions. We must acknowledge that these incidents are becoming more frequent and unpredictable, highlighting the urgent need for both local and global action on environmental issues.

In light of this, Hon. Adelosoye Maxwell is launching emergency funds to support victims of this disaster and also calls other well-meaning citizens to support the effort of the state government under the leadership of {H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa} to bring relief to the victims.
The Vice Chairman, also stated that beyond emergency response, there is an urgent need for long-term measures such as improved drainage systems, flood control mechanisms, and sustainable urban planning to protect our communities from future disasters.

To the affected victims, I assure you that we will not leave you to face this alone. Steps will be taken to ensure that help reaches you as quickly as possible, and efforts will be made to prevent future occurrences. We are working to engage both government bodies and environmental experts to chart a path forward that addresses the root causes of such disasters.
