Dr. Gbenga Fasua Applauds Swift Community Road Rehabilitation in Akure South
The Executive Chairman of Akure South Local Government, (Dr.) Gbenga Fasua, has commended the ongoing rehabilitation of community roads in Odopetu, Stadium Area, Oja Oshodi, Odole, Plaza, Isolo, Oke Padi, and other affected areas, describing it as a testament to responsive and people-centered leadership.
Dr. Fasua emphasized that leadership is about taking timely and impactful actions that improve the lives of citizens. “The swift intervention in rehabilitating these roads shows leadership that prioritizes the well-being of the people. Bad roads have long disrupted socio-economic activities, causing hardship for residents and business owners. This rehabilitation is not just about fixing roads—it is about restoring hope and progress to our communities,” he stated.
He lauded Governor Hon. (Dr.) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for facilitating the rapid response, noting that the governor’s proactive approach demonstrates a government that listens and acts. “We deeply appreciate the governor for responding swiftly to the call for road rehabilitation. This is leadership in action, and it deserves commendation,” he added.
The ongoing road rehabilitation is already yielding positive results, easing transportation, boosting local businesses, and improving the overall quality of life for residents. Many community members have expressed relief and gratitude, highlighting how the improved infrastructure will benefit their daily activities.
Dr. Fasua also stressed the need for continuous maintenance to sustain the development. “It is crucial that these efforts are not only sustained but also supported by routine maintenance to keep our roads in good condition,” he said.
Reaffirming his commitment to community development, he called on all stakeholders to support government initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the living standards of the people.
“Leadership is about doing the right thing, and we are grateful to see that in action. We look forward to more transformative projects that will shape the future of our communities,” he concluded.
