Special Report:INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT: Gov Aiyedatiwa’s “OUR EASE AGENDA” Begins To Yield Results Under Engr Abiola Olawoye Supervision
A new vista of hope was opened in Ondo State on the 24th of February, 2025 when the Chief Judge of Ondo State sworn-in the 7th Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami mni at the Akure Township Stadium.
In the governor Inaugural speech, he stated that Ondo State will transit from the REDEEMED AGENDA of the last four years to a new Development Policy Thrust, O’DATIWA O’ DIRORUN, which was our electioneering campaign mantra to the people and which literally translates to “OUR EASE”.
According to him: “This 7-point pillar shall propel our development agenda for the next four years as carefully designed to drive sustainable development and improve quality of life for our citizens”.

“We like to assure you that the overwhelming renewed mandate you have freely given to us has further placed on us a huge burden of leadership and we promise never to rest on our oars. We make a solemn pledge this day that we shall lead and govern with the fear of God and utmost dedication to the progress of the State. We will prioritise the welfare of our people, particularly the most vulnerable among us – the poor, the sick and the marginalised”.
The Governor’s statement that “We are in a hurry to justify this fresh mandate entrusted to us” is never a political statement but a sign of better things to happen to the Sunshine State. Part of the OUR EASE AGENDA of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa administration is Sustainable Infrastructural Development and Tourism and in less than one month of his Inauguration, we have seen Mr Governor in Acton with different infrastructure facelift in every major roads in the state capital under the supervision of Engr Abiola Olawoye.

The Governor Statement Read: “”Sustainable Infrastructural Development and Tourism: This administration aims to transform our State into a leading tourist destination while promoting sustainable infrastructural development. We intend to achieve this by investing in eco-friendly infrastructure, developing tourist facilities, and promoting cultural heritage preservation.
Our focus will be on creating an enabling environment that supports the growth of the tourism sector, while ensuring that our infrastructural development is environment friendly, sustainable and socially responsible. We shall ensure that all the on-going infrastructure projects across the three senatorial zones of Ondo State are completed within the tenure of our administration.
The ultimate outcome of this pillar will be to create a thriving tourism industry that generates employment opportunities, stimulates economic growth, and enhances quality of life for our people. We envision a future where our State is renowned for its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality. By achieving this vision, we will not only improve the livelihoods of our citizens but also preserve our cultural identity and protect our environment for future generations”.
As we all know the governor to be a man of his words, he has promised to provide needed infrastructure in the three Senatorial Districts of the state and this he will definitely do.
Governor Aiyedatiwa has kicked start the O’DATIWA O’DIRORUN Mantra with Akure, the State capital as reconstruction of inner roads is now in full swing. Major transformation has begun in Akure which is no doubt a vision of Mr Governor designed to enhance infrastructure across the state.
In less than three weeks, more than 10 Streets in Akure have been Asphalt laid and the residents and commuters have begun to praise the governor for the significant improvements on roads in the state capital. Some of the streets in Akure wearing a new look include the 1.2km Odopetu to Oke-Paadi/Lao Road, Oja Oshodi Road and Gbangbalogun Axis, Ajaye, Odi Olowo, Stadium Road among others. More works are ongoing aside the non-stop of work at Onyarugbulem Flyover, Oda Road and Ijoka Road.
The road construction is not limited to Akure alone as there’s ongoing construction of the 27.9km Ode Ajagba road, which spans the East-West axis to Akotogbo (14.513km) and South-East to Ijiosun (13.425km) in Irele Local Government Area among others.
In ensuring quality job is done, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, Engr. Abiola Ayorinde Olawoye, FNSE alongside his team from the Ministry of Works are up and doing, monitoring the contractors and ensuring durable and well-maintained road networks that will enhance mobility and economic activities across Akure and beyond.
The successes so far recorded is because Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa put a round peg in a round hole. The elevation of Engr Abiola Olawoye from Senior Special Assistant to Special Adviser to Mr Governor on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing is one of the best appointment Governor Aiyedatiwa has made. The results is what we are witnessing today. Under his leadership as SSA, Obas Secretariat was commissioned, likewise Investment House and Fire Trucks. Seeing the energy, commitment and expertise of this young Enginner that share same vision with his administration, the governor is convinced that Engr Abiola Olawoye is the man that can grow Ondo State with him.
Engr Abiola Olawoye FNSE can’t but key into the vision of a governor that is in hurry to transform Ondo State better than he met it. To him, the ongoing projects across the state reflect the governor’s dedication in delivering the dividends of democracy and fulfilling his campaign promises just weeks into his administration.
Whenever the SA is on inspection tours, topmost his agenda is strict adherence to quality standards and engineering best practices believing all projects must align with laid-down specifications, ensuring upmost quality, durability, and adherence to global best practices.
His team evaluated the quality of materials used, the compaction levels of the sub-base, and the conformity of all hydraulic structures to hydrological standards.
He reiterated that all contractors must ensure proper asphalt thickness, reinforcement integrity in reinforced concrete structures, and adherence to geotechnical recommendations to guarantee longevity and resilience against environmental factors.
If these infrastructural development can be achieved in less than one month of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa Inauguration, then, we can be optimistic of better days ahead. OUR EASE AGENDA comprises many goodies for the people of the SUNSHINE STATE and the governor can only fulfill all his electioneering campaign promises with our support and prayers.
Kudos to Engr Abiola Olawoye FNSE that is implementing the directive of Mr Governor and the APC led governor under Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa can’t but deliver considering the overwhelming support and votes given to the governor. This is the era of O’DATIWA O’DIRORUN L’ONDO and the SUNSHINERS are eagerly waiting to celebrate with Mr Governor on his first 100 days in office as the 7th Democratically elected Executive Governor of Ondo State.
