Ondo Assembly Confirms Engr. Olawoye as Commissioner
The Ondo State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, confirmed Engr. Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye FNSE, FNICE, as Commissioner following his earlier screening. Olawoye, currently serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, was officially ratified and approved by the lawmakers during plenary.
Presenting his credentials, the lawmaker representing Ondo West Constituency 2, Hon. Abiola Oladapo, read the nominee’s biography and described him as a seasoned professional with the competence and capacity to deliver effectively in his new role.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for appointing a technocrat, stressing that the confirmation was in accordance with constitutional requirements. He congratulated Engr. Olawoye and urged him to work in synergy with the governor for the continued progress of the state.
In his response, Engr. Olawoye expressed deep gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve, stating, “I am forever grateful to His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for finding me worthy of this role. I remain unflinchingly committed to contributing my quota to the development of our dear state in any capacity the governor deems fit.”
Present at the plenary to show support were notable figures including his mother and political leader, Hon. Chief Olanike Olawoye, Hon. Tomide Akinribido, SSA on ICT, Mr. Gbenga Atiba, SSA on Security matters, political leaders from Ondo West Local Government, and other dignitaries across the state.
