No Technical issues in Ondo Judiciary Complex Site, Say COREN

The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) has commended the quality and pace of work at the construction site of the Ondo State Judiciary Complex, affirming that the ongoing project presents no technical issues or structural defects.

The commendation follows an official Engineering Regulations Monitoring (ERM) assessment carried out on Thursday, 14 August 2025.

Leading the assessment team, Adedipe Azeez, COREN Zonal Officer for Ondo and Ekiti States, credited the site engineers for adherence to approved drawings, construction methodology, and quality control procedures. According to the ERM team, observed elements, including reinforcement detailing, formwork preparation, concrete placement practices, and curing regimes, align with acceptable engineering standards and project specifications.

COREN noted that site supervision protocols, materials handling, and documentation (such as concrete pour records, batch tickets, and inspection logs) reflect sound quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) culture. The team added that maintaining strict compliance with safety procedures, workmanship tolerances, and regulatory benchmarks will be crucial as the project advances to subsequent stages of structural and architectural works.

The professional body reiterated that its ERM exercise is aimed at safeguarding public infrastructure by ensuring conformity with the Engineering Practice Regulations, thereby assuring structural integrity, durability, and serviceability throughout the building’s lifecycle. COREN urged the project team to sustain the current standards to deliver a Judiciary Complex that meets function, safety, and longevity requirements.
