Saliu Mustapha submits APC nomination forms for Kwara governorship race

Saliu Mustapha has officially submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State ahead of the 2027 general election.

The senator, who currently represents Kwara Central in the National Assembly, disclosed the development in a Facebook post on Wednesday, describing it as a major step in his political journey toward leading the state.

โ€œYesterday, I formally submitted my Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primary Ticket for Kwara State,โ€ Mustapha said.

โ€œThis marks my official entry into the partyโ€™s screening process and represents a significant step in the journey toward building a more progressive and inclusive Kwara State.โ€

He added that he would continue consultations with party leaders, stakeholders and residents across the state as the APC primary process progresses.

โ€œTogether, we will continue to work towards the future our state truly deserves,โ€ he said.

Mustapha currently chairs the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development and was elected senator for Kwara Central on the APC platform in 2023.

His declaration adds to the growing list of aspirants linked to the APC governorship contest in Kwara. Other figures associated with the race include Ibrahim Oloriegbe, Lolo Ashiru, Bashir Bolarinwa and Femi Sanni.
