APC shifts House of Reps primary to May 16
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed its House of Representatives primary election to Saturday, May 16, 2026.
The party announced the adjustment in a statement issued on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, stating that all other scheduled primaries will proceed as earlier announced.
Under the revised timetable, the Senate primary election will still take place on May 18, while the State House of Assembly primary is fixed for May 20.
The party also confirmed that governorship primaries will hold on May 21, with the presidential primary slated for May 23, 2026.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has endorsed the consensus method ahead of the party’s primaries, describing it as a viable option for minimising internal disputes among party members.
