GOV AIYEDATIWA APPROVES N1.1 BILLION SPECIAL INTERVENTION FUND FOR AAUA TO OFFSET SALARY ARREARS

In furtherance of his administration’s commitment to education and workers’ welfare, Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the release of N1.1 billion as a Special Intervention Fund to the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).

The intervention is specifically to offset outstanding salary arrears owed to staff of the institution and to bring an end to the ongoing industrial dispute in the institution.

The Governor has directed the Ministry of Finance and the University Management to ensure prompt release and disbursement of the funds, and has called on the Unions to suspend strike and return to work in the interest of our students and the development of the institution.

This gesture reaffirms the Aiyedatiwa administration’s belief that a well-motivated workforce is critical to building a 21st century university that can compete globally.
