‘My withdrawal not a sign of weakness’ — APC PWD exits Kaduna reps race

All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Sabon Gari federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Mahmud Sadis Buba, has withdrawn from the race, saying the move should not be seen as a sign of weakness.

Buba, a 30-year-old person living with disability (PWD), announced his withdrawal in a letter addressed to the Kaduna State APC chairman, stating that the decision takes immediate effect.

He said the move followed reconciliation efforts initiated by party leaders and stakeholders.

According to Buba, the decision was difficult but became necessary after consultations with his family, political allies, and APC stakeholders.

He said party unity was essential to securing victory in the general election and advancing the interests of the constituency and the state.

Buba also expressed appreciation to Uba Sani and the Kaduna APC leadership for allowing him to participate in the party’s nomination process, describing the experience as rewarding.

He pledged loyalty to the APC and promised to support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.

“My withdrawal is not a sign of weakness, but a sacrifice for the greater good of the party,” he said, while urging his supporters to remain calm, united, and back the party’s eventual flagbearer.

Popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, Buba gained public attention after successfully passing the APC screening for the Sabon Gari federal constituency contest.

His ambition had also generated controversy following allegations of age falsification linked to conflicting information in documents circulated online. However, no official sanction or indictment was issued by the party.

Buba had hoped to unseat Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, who won the seat under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 before later defecting to the APC.
