Reject Palliatives, Prepare for Agricultural Revolution, Alli Urges Ondo State Residents

Comrade Babatunde Francis Alli, the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) for the November 2024 gubernatorial election, has called upon the residents of Ondo State to reject the inadequate palliatives currently being distributed.

Alli’s appeal follows recent remarks and a video from the chairman of the Refrigerator and Air Conditioner Repairers Association (Akure Zone), who expressed dissatisfaction with the meager palliatives of rice and beans provided to the association.

Criticizing the distribution of such insufficient aid, Alli described these measures as an affront to the dignity of the people of Ondo State. He urged all residents to reject any form of palliative that fails to meet their basic needs or reflect their value. According to him, the provision of inadequate assistance is a temporary solution that does not address the root causes of poverty and economic hardship in the state.

Advocating for a comprehensive agricultural revolution as a cornerstone of his economic development agenda, Alli emphasized the importance of sustainable and meaningful solutions to the challenges faced by residents. He reiterated his commitment to implementing policies that would ensure long-term prosperity and development for all citizens of Ondo State.

“We will integrate our farmers into cooperative societies to facilitate access to inputs, grants, loans, and professional services. The era of farmers working in isolation without necessary inputs and interventions for our true economic development is over. Our agricultural sector is poised to shine again for the world to see,” Alli concluded.
