Embrace Integrity, Hardwork, Ooni urges Nigerians

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has urged Nigerians to embrace integrity, hard work, and a commitment to the rule of law as the nation enters 2025—a year that promises growth and prosperity under the Renewed Hope agenda of the Federal Government.

This was contained in a press release made available late Wednesday by the monarch’s Director, Media and Public Affairs, Moses Olafare.

Speaking at the annual end-of-year thanksgiving ceremony held on Tuesday, December 31, at the Ojaja Arena, located inside The Ife Grand Resort and Industrial Park in Ile-Ife, the monarch urged citizens to resist the temptation of covetousness and instead focus on building the nation through collective responsibility and selfless service.

“Let us not allow covetousness to destroy the wealth of our nation,” the Ooni declared, emphasising the need for every Nigerian to uphold the virtues of integrity and fairness.

The event, which celebrated the contributions of the outstanding staff at Ojaja Pan Africa Limited, also served as a platform for the Ooni to address leaders across various sectors, urging them to prioritise the welfare of the masses and their employees.

He reminded political, civil service, and private sector leaders of their duty to foster environments that support the well-being of those under their leadership.

“Think about your staff, manage them well, and do not make life difficult for them,” the Ooni advised senior executives.

He stressed that unity and selflessness would be the pillars on which the country could build a prosperous and peaceful future.

“We must put aside differences and work together for the common good of the nation,” he said, acknowledging the sacrifices made by Nigerians. “Your patience will yield dividends in the coming year.”

In recognition of the dedication and hard work of his employees, the monarch awarded N4 million to the Best Staff of the Year, with other staff members receiving various cash prizes and gifts in honour of their exceptional contributions to the company.

The ceremony, organised by Queen Olori Aderonke Ogunwusi as part of her ongoing pet project to support and celebrate the staff of Ojaja Pan Africa Limited, concluded with prayers for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

“Together, we will continue to work towards national unity and development,” Ooni Ogunwusi affirmed, closing the event with an optimistic outlook for 2025.
