Gov Aiyedatiwa’s Aide, Hon. Wellington Adebawo, Condemns Ifon Police Station Attack
The Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor, Hon. (Prince) Wellington Oriade Adebawo, has strongly condemned the attack and arson on the Divisional Police Station in Ifon, headquarters of Ose local government, by some young people on Saturday, February 15, 2025, describing the incident as unacceptable and a threat to the peace and security of the state.
Hon. Adebawo decried the culture of citizens taking the law into their hands, stating that such actions can lead to chaos and anarchy. Adebawo emphasized the importance of respecting the rule of law and allowing law enforcement agencies to perform their duties without interference.
The Special Assistant noted that the attack on the police station was not only a violation of the law but also a threat to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Ondo State.
Hon. Adebawo commended the State Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, for initiating investigation into the incident. He assured the people of Ondo State that the government is committed to maintaining law and order and will not tolerate any form of violence or destruction of property.
The Special Assistant called on the citizens of Ondo State to cooperate with the government and law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and security in the state.
He urged young people to desist from such actions and instead engage in constructive dialogue to address any grievances they may have as he emphasized that the government is committed to addressing the concerns of all citizens and will not hesitate to take decisive action against anyone who threatens the peace and security of the state.
