Church Cancels Wedding Over Bride’s Refusal to Observe Pre-Marriage Tradition

The Assemblies of God Church, Okpu 2, located in Aba, Abia State, has cancelled a planned wedding after the bride-to-be declined to adhere to one of the church’s pre-marriage requirements.

In line with its longstanding policy, the church mandates that brides spend the night before their wedding at the residence of the officiating pastor.

This practice facilitates the conduct of a blood-based pregnancy test shortly before the ceremony.

The bride’s refusal to stay at the parsonage, as required, prompted church authorities to cancel the wedding. Guests had already assembled for the event when the announcement was made.
