Ayorinde Olawoye: A Seasoned Professional Committed to Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s Development Agenda
Engr. Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye FNSE, FNICE, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Ondo State on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, and a commissioner Designate, has emerged as a central figure in the actualization of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s infrastructure transformation agenda. Tasked with the responsibility of driving the administration’s infrastructural vision, Engr. Olawoye has demonstrated rare technical competence and administrative precision by facilitating the award and flag-off of three landmark road projects across the state’s senatorial zones. These include the dualization of the Akure–Idanre Road (Central Senatorial District), the Igbokoda–Okitipupa Dual Carriageway (South Senatorial District), and the long-awaited Akungba–Ikare Road (North Senatorial District); a project with immense topographical and geotechnical complexities.
The Akungba–Ikare Road, a project previously overlooked due to its challenging terrain and safety concerns, had over the years claimed many lives and raised technical alarm bells. However, under Engr. Olawoye’s seasoned supervision and firm resolve, this project is now finally being tackled with world-class engineering standards. His application of advanced soil testing, drainage redesign, and slope stabilization methodologies has renewed confidence in the possibility of delivering a road network that meets international safety and durability benchmarks. His conviction that “no technical mountain is insurmountable” continues to shape the ministry’s approach to complex projects, setting a new standard for infrastructural resilience in the state.
Following his Inauguration, Governor Aiyedatiwa gave a clear directive—“No more abandoned projects in Ondo State. Our EASE Blueprint will prioritize sustainable infrastructure development that boosts tourism and the economy.” Engr. Olawoye has since personified this vision, embedding the Governor’s strategic intent into every operational layer of the Ministry. Through rigorous monitoring, policy alignment, and professional oversight, he has ensured that dormant and long-abandoned projects are either being completed or revived. Today, the evidence is undeniable: several projects have been delivered and commissioned, new ones are underway with substantial progress, and multiple transformative initiatives are at advanced planning stages.
