Crisis Rocks Ondo PDP as Media Director Resigns Over ‘Deceit, Compromise’
A fresh wave of crisis is brewing in the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the resignation of its Director of Media and Publicity, Leye Igbabo.
In his resignation letter dated September 30, 2025, and addressed to the State Chairman of the party, Igbabo cited a hostile working environment, deceit, compromise, and indiscipline within the party secretariat as reasons for his decision.
“It is disheartening to know that the Secretariat has become hostile to effective and efficient performance of my duties. I note with pains, utter deceit, huge compromise and gross indiscipline. There is no more sincerity of purpose, and under such circumstances, I do not want to be labeled as an incompetent official,” the letter partly read.
He added that remaining in what he described as an “unproductive environment” would amount to a waste of time and energy, hence his immediate withdrawal from office.
Igbabo’s resignation is expected to heighten internal wrangling in the party ahead of critical political activities in the state, as observers note that the Ondo PDP has been struggling with unity and direction in recent times.
The party leadership is yet to officially react to the development.
