Defence Minister Badaru resigns over health concerns

Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has stepped down from his position, citing health challenges.

His resignation was confirmed on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, through an official statement.

Badaru explained in his letter that his health condition would no longer allow him to continue in office. President Bola Tinubu has accepted the resignation and thanked the former minister for his service and contributions to the nation’s security sector.
