Supporters launch movement for Obi–Kwankwaso 2027 ticket
Supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, chieftains of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), have launched the “OK Movement” to mobilise support for a possible joint ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Monday, the movement’s national publicity secretary, Justin Ijeh, announced the appointment of members into the national executive council, as well as zonal and state structures.
Ijeh said the initiative was in response to growing public dissatisfaction with the country’s worsening economy.
“Nigeria stands at a defining crossroads. As citizens grapple with unprecedented economic hardship, rising cost of living, and persistent insecurity, the Obi–Kwankwaso Movement formally unveils its national and state structures,” the statement read.
He described the movement as more than a political development, calling it a coordinated nationwide platform for systemic reform and national rebirth.
According to him, the group acknowledges the hardship faced by Nigerians, from farmers unable to operate safely to entrepreneurs constrained by economic instability.
“Despite these challenges, the OK Movement represents a beacon of hope. Our mission is anchored on a clear conviction: Nigeria will be OK. We offer not just rhetoric, but a structured and disciplined pathway towards a country that works for all citizens,” he said.
He added that the movement is open to all Nigerians and rejects divisive politics based on ethnicity, region, or religion.
