Adeleke, Accord Party leaders adopt Tinubu for 2027 presidential election
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and leaders of the Accord Party have adopted President Bola Tinubu as the party’s preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The decision was reached during a meeting between Adeleke and the national leadership of the Accord Party held on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
In a statement on Sunday, Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for Adeleke’s re-election campaign, said the meeting focused on issues affecting the party and the country.
According to him, the Accord Party leadership expressed support for the completion of major infrastructure projects initiated by the Tinubu administration, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for the August governorship election in Osun State.
Olajengbesi said the party leadership cautioned against violence, intimidation, electoral manipulation and the deployment of security personnel to harass or intimidate Accord Party members during the election.
Those present at the meeting included the party’s National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem; Deputy National Chairman, Maryam Sale; National Secretary, Ajaja Abiola Adebukola; National Treasurer, Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen; National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod; and National Publicity Secretary, Omorogbe Joseph.
State chairmen of the party from across the country also attended the meeting.
