Sunshine Stars FC Begins Open Screening for New Players Ahead of 2026/27 NNL Season
The Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) has announced plans to conduct an open screening exercise for talented players seeking to join Sunshine Stars Football Club ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The initiative is part of efforts to reposition the club, strengthen the squad, and create healthy competition among players as preparations intensify for the new campaign.
According to the agency, the screening exercise will commence on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Ondo State Football Agency Games Village along Oda Road, Akure.
Speaking on the development, the Chairman of ODSFA, Mr. Divine Ogbonnaya, emphasized that only players who demonstrate exceptional quality and commitment will earn a place in the team.
Also speaking, the Head Coach of Sunshine Stars FC, Duke Udi, reiterated that the screening process would be transparent and merit-based.
He noted that interested players, regardless of their playing positions, are encouraged to participate provided they possess the talent, confidence, and determination required to compete at the professional level.
Coach Udi stressed that there would be no room for favoritism, adding that aspiring players are welcome to join the club’s technical crew at the ODSFA Games Village on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. for screening and training sessions.
He expressed optimism that the exercise would help identify quality talents capable of contributing to the club’s success in the forthcoming season.
