Mass Defection Hit Ondo PDP as Ex State Woman Leader, Others Join APC
EX-PDP STATE WOMAN LEADER, OTHERS JOIN APC IN OKITIPUPA

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has stated that running a government is not a one-man job and it requires everyone’s collective efforts to ensure smooth governance and development.
The Governor stated this on Monday at the Zion Gospellers’ Church, Oke Igbala, Ayeka Igbodigo, Okitipupa local government area as part of his stakeholders engagement in the Southern Senatorial District of the State.
At the event, some leaders and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from the old Okitipupa division defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defectors were led by a former State Woman Leader of the party, Mrs. Esther Ebiwonjumi, who said they were impressed by the governor’s leadership style and ready to support him in the November 16 gubernatorial election.
Receiving the defectors into the party, Governor Aiyedatiwa called on long-standing and new members of the party to unite and collaborate effectively, stressing the importance of working together to ensure that the APC retains power in the state.
“The APC is one big family, and your integration is crucial to our success. Let us all prioritize the success of our party and work together for a better future”, he said.
Addressing some of the challenges raised at the event, including infrastructure, electricity and employment, the Governor promised to examine them critically and work towards resolving them.
Speaking on behalf of the Council of Primates in Okitipupa LGA and members of Zion Gospellers’ Church, Okitipupa, His Eminence, Dr. Joshua Orogbemi Akintan (Arinnade Mimo), founder of Zion Gospellers’ Church, thanked the Governor for identify with the people at the grassroots, declaring the community’s total support for his administration.
Also at the event, the Odatiwa Women Initiative, led by the Special Adviser to to the Governor on Women Affairs, distributed aprons and Food items to women in the area.
The Governor had earlier held a stakeholders meeting with members of the APC in Ilaje Local Government Area at Igbokoda.
