YALI Ondo Hub Leads Clean-up Exercise in Akure

As part of the World Clean-Up Day and Youth Day of Service, the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Ondo Hub spearheaded a clean-up exercise at Oja Oba market in Akure, Ondo State, on Saturday, 21st September 2024. The event brought together young leaders and community members to address environmental cleanliness in the state’s capital.
Led by the YALI team, participants demonstrated the importance of maintaining a clean environment while educating the public on the benefits of proper waste management.
Emmanuel Adamolekun, the team leader of the Clean-Up Oja Oba project, emphasized the goal of the exercise, which was to sensitize people about environmental hygiene. He called on everyone to adopt cleanliness as a daily routine, stressing that a cleaner environment leads to healthier lives for all.
Ms. Morayo Itiolu, Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Youth Mobilization, was also present and actively participated in the clean-up. She praised the state government for their ongoing support in promoting a cleaner, safer environment. Ms. Itiolu also applauded YALI Ondo Hub for its leadership in organizing the event, which serves as a reminder of the power of youth-led initiatives in community development.
