One Killed, Seven Injured as Cybertruck Explodes Near Trump Las Vegas Hotel

One person was killed and seven others injured as a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

“We saw that smoke started showing from the vehicle, and then a large explosion from the truck occurred,” Sheriff Kevin McMahill said at a news conference.

The cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained. However, the person killed in the explosion is said to be the driver of the cybertruck.

Cybertruck Explosion Nears Trump’s Las Vegas Hotel

Mr McMahill made reference to the incident involving a driver who rammed a vehicle into a New Orleans crowd, killing 10 and injuring over 30 people.

“We’re very well aware of what has happened in New Orleans with the event that occurred there,” he said.

“As you can imagine, with an explosion here on an iconic Las Vegas Boulevard, we are taking all of the precautions that we need to take to keep our community safe.”

Eric Trump, president-elect Donald Trump’s son and a leader of the Trump Organisation, confirmed the incident in a tweet.

“Earlier today, a reported electric vehicle fire occurred in the porte cochère of Trump Las Vegas,” Mr Trump said in a statement on X. “The safety and well-being of our guests and staff remain our top priority.”
