ENCOMIUMS, GLITZ AND GLAMOUR…as Hon. Tomide Akinribido Receives Prestigious IT Rockstar Award

On Sunday, 9th of March,2025, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on ICT, Hon. Tomide Akinribido, was honoured among other esteemed awardees at the 2025 Fizzy Lecture and Awards, organized by Chronicle Media Ventures, which held in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

His recognition as an IT Rockstar further justifies his outstanding contributions to ICT penetration, via his relentless digital advocacy and technology-oriented public service.

The lecture and award event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, led by the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, who was represented by the Director-General/CEO of OSRC, Mr.Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson. The list of eminent dignitaries who accompanied Hon. Akinribido and his wife to receive the award included; Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly- Rt. Hon Olamide Oladiji and former members of the state assembly including Hon. Abiodun Faleye and Hon. Favour Tomomewo.

Other notable dignitaries included- Mr Babatunde Owate, Director General of the Ondo State Pension Commission, Vice chairman of Akure North Local Government- Hon Funmi Dapo Filani, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Diaspora Matters, Mr. Yemi Fasipe, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerment& Job Creation, Amb. Orioye Gbayisemore and Special Assistant to the Governor on Photography, Mr. Tayo Oluyi amongst others.

The former lawmaker appreciated the Executive Governor of Ondo state for giving him the platform to drive the expansion of communication infrastructure and deepening of ICT penetration in Ondo state. While also thanking everyone present, Hon Akinribido reassured that the Ondo State Government will continue to drive enhancement of digital literacy in the state, and provide necessary support for the vibrancy of the state digital economy.
