Ondo Government Debunks Report of Herdsmen Attack as False
The Ondo State Government has dismissed reports of an alleged attack by armed herdsmen in some communities within the state, describing it as false and misleading.
In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters, Chief Olugbenga Atiba, the government condemned the report being circulated by some online media platforms, stating that it was a deliberate attempt to incite panic among residents.
“We want to categorically state that this report is not only an absolute falsehood but also an attempt by the sponsors of fake news to create unnecessary tension in the state,” the statement read.
The government urged those spreading such misinformation to desist from actions capable of causing unrest and distrust between the people and the government.
Reaffirming its commitment to the security of lives and property, the statement emphasized that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration has put measures in place to ensure the safety of all residents.
Residents were urged to go about their daily activities without fear, as the state remains peaceful and secure.
