KWAM1 breaks down in tears over Ogogo’s death

Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM1 or K1 De Ultimate, broke down in tears while performing at the Mushin 30th Anniversary Celebration following the death of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

Ogogo died on Sunday evening after battling cancer, triggering an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, fans and prominent Nigerians.

A video circulating on social media showed the emotional moment KWAM1 received news of the actor’s death during his live performance. The visibly shaken musician was consoled by an associate on stage.

Another Fuji musician, Malaika, also became emotional while paying tribute to the late actor.

“His death really hit hard. I’m in pain,” Malaika said.

The musicians mourned Ogogo and reflected on his contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry, particularly Yoruba-language cinema.

Ogogo was a prominent figure in Yoruba Nollywood. He died days after his daughters publicly appealed for financial assistance to support his treatment for stage-four cancer.

His death has continued to attract tributes from actors, musicians, politicians and other figures across the entertainment industry.
