GOVERNOR ADELEKE BANS NURTW IN OSUN STATE
Governor Ademola Adeleke has proscribed the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in Osun State following the killing of Mr Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade Emir.
Ajagungbade Emir was shot dead on Sunday in Ile-Ife by suspected hoodlums during a clash over the control of a garage in the ancient city.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor directed the Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest all those involved in the killing and bring them to book.
The governor also ordered the immediate vacation of all motor parks by warring factions and directed security agencies to restore normalcy and ensure law and order across parks in the state.
As part of measures to prevent further violence, Adeleke announced the reintroduction of a Park Management System across the state.
