husband recounts how he discovered wife was sexually molesting daughter
Ikechukwu Onyeanyusi, husband of Anulika Onyeanusia, the 36-year-old woman arrested in Anambra State for allegedly sexually molesting her underage daughter, has recounted how he discovered the incident.
Premium Times had earlier reported that police in Anambra State arrested Mrs Onyeanusia on Friday in connection with the incident.
According to Mr Onyeanyusi, he was unaware of his wife’s actions until a friend showed him videos of the incident on Thursday evening.
Speaking in a video clip uploaded on Facebook on Saturday, he said he was shocked after seeing the footage.
“I saw the video. It was my wife and my daughter. She (my wife) was molesting the child. I got confused and wondered if that was real,” he said.
Mr Onyeanyusi said he confronted his wife after seeing the videos, but she initially denied the allegations, claiming the footage had been generated using artificial intelligence.
He said he was still investigating his wife’s explanation when police officers arrived at their residence and arrested both of them.
“When they were interrogating her at the police station, she admitted committing the offence,” he said.
The husband added that his wife also told police investigators that he had no knowledge of her activities.
“That was when I turned and asked her, ‘Did you really do this?’ and she said, ‘Yes.’
“I got weak. I asked her, ‘How can you do this kind of thing?’ I sat at the police station, confused about the whole thing,” he recounted.
Mr Onyeanyusi said he decided to speak publicly about the incident because he expected that many people would assume he knew about his wife’s actions.
“I am totally disappointed with my wife. I never believed she could do this kind of thing, even to our daughter,” he said.

The couple resides in Onitsha, where police reportedly recovered sex toys and other items from the suspect as part of the ongoing investigation.
The police said the suspect was being investigated for child pornography and that four children, aged two, three, six and nine, were rescued from her.

Sexual exploitation and child pornography are illegal in Nigeria.
Section 32 of the Child Rights Act 2003 prohibits the sexual abuse and exploitation of children and provides a punishment of up to 14 years’ imprisonment upon conviction.
Child pornography is also prohibited under Section 17(1) of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition), Enforcement and Administration Act 2015. Section 17(2) provides for a prison term of not less than seven years and a fine of not less than N1 million upon conviction.
The Cybercrimes Act 2024 also criminalises child pornography.
Nigeria has recorded convictions in cases involving child pornography and sexual exploitation of children. In June 2025, the Federal High Court in Lagos convicted and sentenced Olukeye Adeayo Olalekan to 76 years’ imprisonment for child pornography-related offences.
In 2024, the Lagos Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court sentenced Nurudeen Nasiru to life imprisonment for introducing pornographic videos to his neighbour’s 13-year-old daughter and sexually assaulting her.
